BOLF Blogvember Challenge

Introduction

Recently, me and my friend Nori were discussing feeling unmotivated when it comes to writing/personal projects. We mentioned that we either don't have a clear vision for a project or the idea feels really overwhelming so it's hard to know where to start. October is coming to a close and neither of us had the time or energy to complete Inktober or its variants. School/work took up a majority of our time and we lacked a burning passion that was felt in years previous. It occurred to us while we were talking that we needed an event that was adequately challenging but not overwhelming. Inspired by Nanowrimo we decided we were going to attempt our own challenge!

Guidelines

In the BOLF Blogvember challenge participants are encouraged to write anything. Write about what you had for lunch, a new story idea you had, something that inspired you, a cool bug you saw on your way to work, literally anything as long as words are getting on the page. The objective is to build an incremental habit of expressing your thoughts through written word no matter the quality or subject. The way this challenge is designed aims to break down writing into small manageable pieces until it feels more natural to write longer, faster, and in a voice that feels more like you through regular practice. This is for people who have felt disconnected from writing and would like to ease back into it.

On Thursdays feel free to continue the regular writing task OR you may choose an activity from the list below to break it up a little. Chosen activities must be contributing to the overall goal of encouraging productivity, cultivating inspiration, and personal expression.

If you do this challenge: Comment below with a link to a Spacehey post that contains either the writing/activities that you do during the month (keeps it simple) [example] or a post that contains the links to separate posts (so that some may be diary posts if you choose) [example]! Feel free to customize as much as you want. :3

Activity Options:

- Read 10 pages of a book ✧

- Play FranticFanfic with friends! ✧

- Draw out your day/concept instead ✧

- If you read something during the month, choose a character/scene and draw what you imagine when you read the written description ⃤

Prompts to get started if you're feeling stuck:

- If you read something during the month, choose a section and write about what you would change if you had written it yourself ⃤

- Write an excerpt about how an OC would think in their head about what is happening during a given distressing moment ⃤

Of course this is for fun, so if you are attempting the BOLFBC feel free to personalize the goal(s)/activities/days to ones that are more suited for where you are currently and where you want to be at the end of the month if you would like to do so.

If you want to check your word count you can copy/paste your writing into a website like WordCounter (since Spacehey doesn't have one automatically).
